Qiddiya City adds a Performing Arts Centre to its roster

This new venue promises to establish Saudi Arabia as a hub for all things entertainment.

Saudi Arabia is upping its game when it comes to establishing itself as the ultimate hub of all things entertainment. And now, it has announced the introduction of an innovative Performing Arts Centre in Qiddiya City.

The Performing Arts Centre will blend architecture with cutting-edge technology and artistic innovation. Integrated into the landscape of Qiddiya City, the Performing Arts Centre will be perched on the Tuwaiq cliffs and offer breathtaking views of the city below. Its design also includes a cantilevered amphitheatre and a suspended 500-seat venue, which will host more than 260 performances every year — spread across three theatres. A waterfall-like feature will also form part of the lobby to cool the surroundings.

Using Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Artificial Intelligence, the Performing Arts Centre will showcase groundbreaking productions that merge the physical and digital realms. It’ll also foster creativity, nurture Saudi talent, and serve as an incubator for young artists, offering educational opportunities and resources to shape the future of local theatre.

Beyond performances, the Performing Arts Centre also offers dining and retail options, as well as educational entertainment. Expect to see a rooftop sky garden, art galleries, and green spaces that extend the cultural experience.

The Performing Arts Centre aims to host over 800,000 visitors annually. This fuels economic growth that’s expected to create jobs covering over 100 different categories in the creative and cultural industry.
