Expo 2020 Dubai Museum opens – and here’s how to visit for free 

The museum celebrates connections and cultures. 

If you’re after your culture fix, we have some exciting news. Expo 2020 Dubai Museum is set to open on 18 May. Following Expo 2020 Dubai, the site has been transformed with bars, restaurants and live events. Now, it will welcome a museum exploring the connections between different countries. 

Expo 2020 Dubai Museum brings together exhibitions, displays and multimedia experiences. The venue celebrates different cultures, and aims to continue the legacy of Expo 2020 Dubai. Visitors will be able to look back at Expos around the world and Dubai’s Expo. Plus, there is a shop with memorabilia from the event.

On the opening weekend, from 18 to 19 May, the museum will be open to the public for free. Visitors will also have free entry to the Stories of Nations exhibition, and a 50 per cent discount at the attractions Alif, Garden in the Sky and Terra.

The first Expo took place in Crystal Palace, London in 1851. Expo 2020 Dubai ran from October 2021 to March 2022. The event welcomed more than 24 million visitors from 178 different countries. Saudi Arabia has won the bid to host the 2030 World Expo, and will be the second city in the Middle East to host the event. Other cities that bid to host the event include Rome, Italy and Busan, South Korea.

Expo 2020 Dubai Museum is open daily from 10am to 6pm. Tickets are available now and start from AED 120.
