Catch Oscar-winning film composer Hans Zimmer
Hands up if you love the soundtrack to Gladiator, The Lion King or Pirates of the Caribbean. Well, you have the film composer Hans Zimmer to thank for that. We’re excited as the multiple Oscar winner has announced that he’s returning to Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena for a concert that will showcase the talents of the German composer and his band of skilled musicians, which includes Tina Guao on the cello and Pedro Eustache on the winds. Enhancing the ensemble’s performance will be captivating dancers, along with the voices of Lisa Gerard from Gladiator, Lebo M. from The Lion King, and Loire from Dune.

Have a laugh with Russell Kane
British comedian Russell Kane will be jetting back into Dubai for a headline show. The brand-new tour will see Russell bring his high-energy, high-octane, and hyper-active style back to the QE2, a venue he sold out last January. The comedian made history by becoming the first comedian to clinch both the Edinburgh Comedy Award and the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Barry Award in the same year. He is known for his dynamic style and topical commentary, so prepare for an evening of comedic rants, known as Kaneings.

Try a tempting tasting menu
Qabu by Paco Morales at The Link has introduced two experiential menus curated by Chef Paco Morales in collaboration with Chef Paola Gualandi. These menus offer a contemporary exploration of ancient Andalusian recipes with guests journeying back to the Al Andalus era, where the rich and colourful Arab civilization blended with the cultures of southern Spain. The FACT award-winning Chez Wam now offers an 11-course tasting menu from Chef Hadrien Villedieu. Offering a nostalgic journey through his memories, the menu combines flavours from his childhood with influences from his travels in dishes, from the playful vegetable oyster to the inventive Morning in Paris, a take on his daily Parisian-inspired breakfast. Visit the coolest culinary collab in town
As part of the much-anticipated Coolabs series — a cooler version of a chef collaboration — acclaimed chefs Hadrien Villedieu from Chez Wam and Reif Othman from TERO (The Experience by Reif Othman) will cook together under one roof. Taking place on 6 and 7 June at TERO’s 12-seater chef’s table in Dubai Hills Business Park, this evening promises an eight-course dinner that will leave your bellies — and hearts — full. Each dinner will comprise of two seatings, at 6pm and 9pm. Watch Sister Act: The Musical
Rejoice, Sister Act: The Musical is coming to The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi. The Musical will be performed by Abu Dhabi’s Choral Group. Established in 1977, the group brings together 15 nationalities and has put on more than 75 shows. Based on the film which starred Whoopie Goldberg, Sister Act follows Deloris Van Cartier. After she witnesses a crime, she seeks refuge in a convent. The former nightclub singer has to disguise herself as a nun – with hilarious results. On the way, she transforms the choir from a traditional group to singing sensations. The story covers themes of friendship, redemption, and the power of music to bring people together. Make a splash
The K-pop music event, Waterbomb Festival, is making its debut in Dubai. This event will combine music and water, and audience members are encouraged to take part in water attractions, slides and water fights. Previous sites have included bungee jumps, water cannons and zip lines, which have been used by the artists and audience. 82-Major, AL, CL, DJ Snake, PH-1 and SORN have all been confirmed to join the star-studded lineup on Saturday, 8 June. Witness motorsports mayhem
Abu Dhabi, start your engines. The world-famous Monster Jam returns to Etihad Arena on Yas Island from 8 to 9 June. In the action-packed competition, world-class drivers will show off their skills. The 5,500kg vehicles do backflips, donuts, two-wheelers and drive at speeds of up to 110kph on a purpose-built dirt track. The event will also showcase a breathtaking motocross aerial display, along with an exhilarating pre-show Pit Party where attendees can meet and greet the drivers and get an up-close look at the colossal trucks. The line-up of R&B megastars performing at Coca-Cola-Arena continues to expand, this time with news that Jason Derulo will return to Dubai. Set to perform on Saturday, 15 June, the award-winning singer is bringing his Nu King World Tour to the UAE. Since breaking through with his five-times-platinum single Whatcha Say, Derulo has sold more than 200 million records worldwide, including chart-topping hits like Talk Dirty, Wiggle and Swalla.
